Our Experience with the Tendercare Snappi

We recently received the Tendercare Snappi for our daughter, Asiya, through our local NHS wheelchair services in Preston. This has been an important milestone in her journey toward greater mobility and comfort, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received throughout the process.

What is the Tendercare Snappi?

The Tendercare Snappi is a versatile and supportive pediatric wheelchair designed for children with mobility challenges. It offers a customizable seating system that provides both comfort and postural support while allowing for easy adjustments as the child grows. The Snappi’s lightweight frame and maneuverability make it a fantastic option for daily use, both indoors and outdoors.

Receiving the Snappi in Preston

The process of receiving the Snappi was smooth, thanks to the dedicated team at NHS wheelchair services in Preston. From our initial consultation to the final fitting, they ensured that Asiya’s needs were met with precision and care. They took the time to explain all the features of the Snappi, ensuring we felt confident in using it effectively.

It was delivered to our house and an engineer came out and fitted all the bits for us. We had even requested (not automatically funded) a raincover, sun-hood and footmuff which they fitted.

Why the Snappi Matters for Asiya

For our family, having the right mobility equipment is crucial as Asiya is unable to use her lower limbs and has scoliosis. The Snappi provides Asiya with the necessary support while giving her a level of independence that is essential for her development. It allows us to navigate different environments more easily, making outings and daily activities more accessible and enjoyable. We recently took her bowling in it and it was amazing to be able to watch her play with her brother independently.

Looking Ahead

Now that we have the Snappi, we are excited to integrate it into our daily routines. We’re looking forward to seeing how it enhances Asiya’s mobility and provides her with greater comfort and confidence as she grows.

If you are considering a pediatric wheelchair for your child, I highly recommend reaching out to your local NHS wheelchair services. The right equipment can make a world of difference in a child’s life, and we are so grateful for the support we’ve received on this journey.
